What is a Laparoscopic Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy?
In a laparoscopic vertical sleeve gastrectomy, Dr. Ben-Meir will remove 80-85% of your stomach through five ¼ to ½ inch incisions in the abdomen. After the procedure, your stomach will be ½ inch in diameter and five to six inches long, leaving you with a ‘sleeve’ of stomach that helps you feel full with a small amount of food. The gastric sleeve procedure does not involve any intestinal surgery and nothing is placed around your stomach. You are simply left with a small stomach that helps you feel full with a small amount of food.

How to choose a weight loss surgery program
Don’t make the mistake of choosing a hospital or a program over a surgeon. Choosing a surgeon is more important than choosing a program. When you choose a program with multiple surgeons you may not be able to control who you are assigned to. All surgeons have different experience levels, varying skill sets, and varying degrees of surgical judgment. In our program, you are choosing Dr. Ben-Meir. He has performed over 4,000 actual operations. He has hand-picked a superb team and office staff to ensure that everyone is committed to your safety.
We understand the struggles you face living with obesity. If you’re ready for a change, you may be ready to consider weight loss surgery.
